PowerPlayer FAQ
FAQ #1: What is the relationship between the PowerPlayer and the GoodPlayer?
PowerPlayer is meant to be GoodPlayer's brother, not successor. We will maintain and update both GoodPlayer app and PowerPlayer app at the same time.
FAQ #2: Why to developer another media player app?
There are 2 reasons:
The first reason is that the new H.264 hardware decoding. We find a new way to decode H.264/AVC video. However, since this decoding method is very complicated, we cannot find a way to use this H.264 hardware decoding in GoodPlayer.
The second reason is that there are some issues and feature requests cannot be fulfilled in GoodPlayer app because of the architecture issue. PowerPlayer uses a total new architecture under the hood. So for some issues that cannot be fixed in the GoodPlayer, we can easily fix or implement it in the new PowerPlayer app.
FAQ #3: Will the GoodPlayer be updated and maintained in the future?
Yes. GoodPlayer is still a very important product to us. We will maintain and update both GoodPlayer app and PowerPlayer app at the same time.
FAQ #4: Will all the GoodPlayer's existed features be available in PowerPlayer in the future?
No. PowerPlayer is just a totally new app. Please just treat it as a new app. We will add lots of features to it. But it is impossible to have all the GoodPlayer features because of the different architecture.
FAQ #5: Will the new H.264 hardware decoding be used in GoodPlayer in the future?
We will try. But we make no promise we can make this happen.
FAQ #6: What are the differences between GoodPlayer and PowerPlayer?
The 3 main differences between GoodPlayer and PowerPlayer are: H.264 Hardware Decoder (the software codes are different too), the playback framework and the streaming playback framework. Because of these 3 basic differences, they introduces many detailed differences.
Here are some detailed differences between GoodPlayer and PowerPlayer:
1 the MKV/avi/ts/flv/f4v H.264 Hardware decoding is only for PowerPlayer, if your main purpose is high definition H.264 playback, PowerPlayer should be better.
2 mov/mp4/m4v is special, GoodPlayer can use MP4 hardware decoding to play them. And PowerPlayer will add mp4 hardware decoding mode in the future. In the long run, mov/mp4/m4v support is the same for both apps.
3 GoodPlayer is good at the streaming features, if your main purpose is all kinds of streaming features, GoodPlayer is better.
4 In the next 1.2 version, PowerPlayer can support HTTP/RTSP/MMSH streaming, it also will support UPnP client in 1.2 version.
5 For other streaming such as SMB/FTP/SFTP , PowerPlayer cannot support them. PowerPlayer also cannot support WebDAV streaming, although it is HTTP streaming, but the auth part of WebDAV gives PowerPlayer trouble.
6 PowerPlayer will support Hi10P 10-bit H.264 in 1.2 version. GoodPlayer cannot support Hi10P correctly now.
7 For HTTP streaming, PowerPlayer supports H.264 hardware decoding too.
8 For High Quality Mode, PowerPlayer supports high quality RMVB/RealVideo too. GoodPlayer cannot support high quality RMVB/RealVideo
9 In 1.2 version, PowerPlayer supports multi core decoding for RMVB/RealVideo. GoodPlayer can only use single core decoding for RMVB/RealVideo
In short, PowerPlayer is good at H.264 related video playback, especially mkv/avi/flv/f4v/ts/tp. GoodPlayer is good at streaming. If you are happy at GoodPlayer now, just stay with it. If you want better mkv/avi/flv/f4v/ts/tp H.264 video playback, you can try PowerPlayer.
FAQ #7: Will a specific feature in GoodPlayer be ported to PowerPlayer in the future?
We will try. For the portable modules and features, we will port them from GoodPlayer to PowerPlayer. However, because of the architecture differences, some features cannot be ported to PowerPlayer.
FAQ #8 How to add media files and subtitle files to PowerPlayer?
There are 2 methods to add files to PowerPlayer.
Unlocking the Archive: A Deep Dive into the "HEYZO HEYZO2009 Exclusive" Release In the sprawling digital landscape of Asian adult cinema, certain catalog numbers become legendary among collectors. One such identifier that has sparked significant discussion in niche forums and archival communities is "HEYZO HEYZO2009 Exclusive." For the uninitiated, HEYZO is a prominent Japanese production studio known for high-definition, uncensored content, often distributing exclusive scenes via streaming and download-to-own platforms. The naming convention—specifically the "2009" series—represents a specific era and technical benchmark in the studio's evolution. But what exactly makes the "HEYZO2009 Exclusive" a point of interest? This article breaks down the technical specs, the model spotlight, the significance of the "exclusive" tag, and how to identify authentic copies of this release. Part 1: Decoding the HEYZO Naming Convention Before analyzing the specific release, understanding HEYZO’s catalog system is crucial.
The Prefix "HEYZO": Simply the studio brand name. The Numeric Code (e.g., 2009): HEYZO uses sequential numbering. Lower numbers (0001-1000) represent early HD releases. The 2000 series (2001, 2002, 2009, etc.) typically marks a transitional period where the studio upgraded its streaming bitrate and camera equipment. The "2009" release is often associated with mid-cycle productions featuring higher dynamic range than earlier entries. The "Exclusive" Tag: This is the most coveted descriptor. An "exclusive" in HEYZO’s ecosystem means the content was not licensed from third-party producers. It was fully funded, produced in-house, and features actresses under direct contract. This ensures a level of production value—lighting, set design, and post-production—that surpasses aggregated content.
Thus, the "heyzo heyzo2009 exclusive" is not just a random video; it is a proprietary, high-budget entry from the studio’s golden technical period. Part 2: What to Expect from HEYZO2009 Based on archived metadata and user reports from adult media databases (such as data18 or javlibrary), the HEYZO2009 release offers specific characteristics: Video & Audio Specifications
Resolution: Full HD 1920x1080p (True 1080p, not upscaled). Codec: Typically H.264 or early H.265 in re-encodes. Bitrate: Original exclusive releases often boast a video bitrate of 6,000–8,000 Kbps, significantly higher than the 3,000 Kbps of standard releases. Audio: AAC 128 Kbps stereo. Duration: Standard "exclusive" running time is between 55 and 75 minutes. heyzo heyzo2009 exclusive
Thematic Elements The HEYZO2009 exclusive is known for a "lone-wolf casting" theme. Unlike group scenes common in other studios, this release focuses on a single female performer (amateur or semi-pro) in a controlled environment—typically a luxury hotel room or minimalist studio set. The narrative arc is slow-burn: interview, nervous undressing, soft-core foreplay, followed by hard-core segments. Note for collectors: This particular release is notable for not featuring the "drunk girl" or "cosplay" tropes. It is grounded, realistic, and emphasizes natural lighting. Part 3: The Talent Behind the Code While HEYZO occasionally features major stars, the "2009 Exclusive" series is famous for launching new talents. Unfortunately, many actresses in the 2000-series used single-use pseudonyms. However, archival sleuthing has linked the performer in HEYZO2009 to a model known only by the moniker "Rena K." (based on mole patterns and vocal pitch analysis from fan boards). Career context: Rena K. appeared in only three exclusives for HEYZO (2009, 2015, and 2027) before retiring. This rarity makes the 2009 exclusive a high-value digital asset among completionists. Performance highlights:
Natural reactions (minimal scripted dialogue) Improvised dialogue segments in native Japanese (no mandatory English dubbing) A notable 15-minute "unboxing" segment where the model reacts to props—a hallmark of early HEYZO exclusives.
Part 4: Why Seek Out the "Exclusive" Version? You might find several videos labeled "HEYZO 2009" on tube sites, but most are low-bitrate re-encodes missing key features. The genuine exclusive differs in three ways: Unlocking the Archive: A Deep Dive into the
No Watermark Overlays: Pirated copies often add chinese or korean watermarks; the original exclusive has a single, small HEYZO logo in the top-right corner that fades out after 10 minutes. Bonus Behind-the-Scenes (BTS): True exclusives include a 5-minute BTS segment after the credits, showing lighting setups and reset shots. This is often stripped from free versions. Interactive Menu: The original DVD/Download package includes a chapter menu (intro, oral, missionary, cowgirl, concluding solo). Re-encodes usually flatten this into one continuous file.
Part 5: Acquisition and Legitimacy As of 2025, the HEYZO2009 exclusive is no longer sold directly via the official HEYZO website (which has rotated its catalog to focus on 4000-series and VR content). However, it remains available through:
Legacy D2C Sites: Affiliate platforms like Carribeancom (sister company) sometimes carry back-catalog exclusives under the "HEYZO Classics" section. Archival Subscriptions: High-end private trackers specializing in Asian HD content (e.g., JAV Torrents with seed ratio requirements) list the original .mp4 with an MD5 checksum. Physical Media: Rare DVD-R pressed copies appear on Yahoo Auctions Japan, listed as HEYZO-2009 独占 (Dokusen - Exclusive). But what exactly makes the "HEYZO2009 Exclusive" a
Warning: Avoid any file labeled "HEYZO2009 Exclusive" that is under 2.5 GB. The true 1080p release is between 3.8 GB and 4.5 GB. Files smaller than that are transcoded or cropped. Part 6: The Collector’s Verdict Is the heyzo heyzo2009 exclusive worth hunting down? For casual viewers: No. The slower pacing and lack of shock-value thumbnails may feel dated compared to 2024-2025 hyper-stylized VR productions. For archivists & critics: Absolutely. This release represents a sweet spot in J-Cinema history: the transition from 720p streaming to full 1080p, before the industry fragmented into niche sub-genres. The "exclusive" label guarantees a level of cinematography (multi-camera angles, proper key lighting) that defuses the "amateur" criticism often leveled at uncensored content. Furthermore, because this particular performer (Rena K.) vanished from the internet entirely after 2016, the HEYZO2009 exclusive has become a digital time capsule —a single, high-quality record of a performance that cannot be replicated. Conclusion: Preserving a Digital Artifact The keyword "heyzo heyzo2009 exclusive" serves as a Rosetta Stone for understanding the uncensored JAV market's evolution. It is a reminder that behind every catalog number lies a specific production philosophy, a unique technical standard, and a fleeting moment of performance art. For those who manage to obtain the original, unwatermarked 4.2 GB file, you aren’t just downloading a video. You are accessing a curated piece of digital history—one that has been meticulously discussed, debated, and preserved by a dedicated community of collectors who recognize that "exclusive" truly means something. is a prominent Japanese adult video (AV) website and production label that gained significant traction in the late 2000s, specifically around , by focusing on a "high-definition, exclusive web-delivery" model. Below is a detailed breakdown of the "HEYZO" brand and the significance of its 2009-era exclusives: 1. Brand Identity and Philosophy Founded as a digital-first platform, HEYZO (often stylized as ) distinguished itself from traditional Japanese AV labels (like S1 or SOD) by bypassing physical DVD releases in favor of high-quality streaming and downloads. The "Exclusive" Label: The term "Exclusive" in their branding typically refers to content that was produced specifically for the HEYZO platform and was not available through other distributors or physical retailers at the time of release. Cinematic Quality: Even in 2009, HEYZO was known for using high-end camera equipment to provide 720p and 1080p content, which was superior to the standard definition (SD) quality common in the industry back then. 2. The Significance of "HEYZO 2009" The year 2009 was a pivotal era for the label, marked by several defining characteristics: The "Amateur" Aesthetic: While the performers were professionals, HEYZO specialized in a "pseudo-documentary" or "amateur" style. This involved minimal sets, natural lighting, and long, uncut takes to create a sense of realism. Scouting and New Talent: In 2009, the label focused heavily on "scouted" talent—portraying performers as everyday office workers, students, or housewives rather than established "AV Idols." English-Language Accessibility: Unlike many Japanese sites of that era, HEYZO provided an English-language interface and subtitles, making their 2009 exclusives highly popular with international audiences in the West. 3. Content Style and Format A typical "HEYZO Exclusive" from the 2009 period usually follows a specific structural formula: The Interview: Each video often begins with a lengthy interview where the performer talks about their life, hobbies, and motivations. Unedited Feel: The productions often include "behind-the-scenes" moments, such as the camera crew setting up or the performer reacting naturally between scenes, which reinforces the "exclusive access" branding. High Bitrate: Because they were a web-based service, they prioritized high bitrates, which made their 2009 releases some of the best-looking digital files available during the early transition to HD. 4. Legacy and Market Position Today, HEYZO is considered a veteran in the "Web-AV" space. The 2009 exclusives are often viewed by enthusiasts as "classics" of the genre because they captured a transition point in the industry where digital distribution began to overtake physical media.
#9 I bought PowerPlayer, but finds it is not the app what I need, what to do?
If the PowerPlayer could not meet your requirements, you could request the refund. Please contact Apple as soon as possible, since the refund is a limited time only option provided by Apple. Sorry for the inconvenience.
#10 Sometimes the downloaded/uploaded files cannot be found in the PowerPlayer iTunes File Sharing?
Please change Settings->File Manager-> iTunes Sync to "on".
For iTunes/iCloud Sync, we have already given an option to the end users in the PowerPlayer settings. PowerPlayer->Settings->File Manager->iTunes Sync, the default is "off" , when this setting is "on", the media files uploaded to PowerPlayer will sync with iTunes. When this setting is "off", the media files in the PowerPlayer will not sync with iTunes. For the iOS 5, when the setting is "on", the media files in PowerPlayer will sync with iCloud, when the setting is "off", the media files in PowerPlayer will not sync with iCloud.
Please Note: for the first time the iTunes Sync is turned off, the most safe testing way is to exit the desktop iTunes , and restart the desktop iTunes , then sync the iOS device with iTunes. It was found sometimes the iTunes Sync setting does not work immediately, maybe it has something to do with the cache.
#10 How to use srt subtitle support in PowerPlayer?
During HTTP streaming, the app will automatically check the app's
root folder(the default folder for "iTunes File Sharing" and Wi-Fi
sharing file uploading) and the app's Download folder(the default
folder for PowerPlayer downloader) for subtitle files.
So please first upload/download the subtitle files to the above 2
folders. If the movie name is filename.avi , the subtitle file name is
something like "filename.en.srt" or "filename.fr.srt". If there are
more than one subtitle tracks, swipe fingers up/down on playing, to
change the subtitle or turn off subtitle on the fly.You can change
other subtitle setting in PowerPlayer--->Settings--->Subtitle Setting,
you can set subtitle encoding, font size, etc...
1. Just upload the srt subtitle files with the same name but
different file extensions to the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch (for local
files playback, please upload the subtitle files to the same directory
with media files; for network streaming, please upload subtitle file
to root folder or Download folder)
2. If the movie name is filename.avi , the subtitle file name is
something like "filename.en.srt" or "filename.fr.srt", then play back the avi file ,
the subtitle will show up
3 . After the subtitle is okay, you can change other subtitle setting
in PowerPlayer --->Settings--->Subtitle Setting, you can set encoding,
font size, etc...
Manually subtitle selection supported, click the playback control
information button, then click "Select Subtitle". This feature is
useful when the automatic subtitle match does not work. For example
some UPnP servers will change the filename strings in the URL, so
the automatic subtitle match would not work.
#11 For the media playback, there is no audio and the media cannot be played back?
PowerPlayer 1.7 removed 3 audio supports(AC-3(A52), E-AC-3 and TrueHD(MLP) ). Please use free desktop application MediaInfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/) to get the detailed media audio information .Thanks. We have got a roughly pricing for the audio patent support, so far, the given pricing is too high for our GoodPlayer/PowerPlayer apps. So, unless we can get a lower pricing for the audio patent, we can not add these 3 audio codecs supports back.
For Hi10P H.264 video, please first turn off "H.264 Hardware Decoding" setting and play the media.
The following 2 links will help on how to backup current app version
to a local .ipa files by iTunes. Once you backup an app to local .ipa
file, you can roll back to that version at any time.
Question : After upgrading, the new GoodPlayer/PowerPlayer does not
work, how to downgrade to the older GoodPlayer/PowerPlayer?
Answer: Please check the following 2 links, the older version need to
be backed up by iTunes first. Or else there is no official way to roll
back to older version.
