While newer versions exist (and are required for the VCX-DoIP interfaces), 20.4.2 is robust enough to handle the vast majority of VAG vehicles on the road today—from a 1996 Mk4 Golf to a 2021 Audi RS6. If you aren't driving the absolute latest 2023/2024 models, 20.4.2 offers a rock-solid experience with fewer bugs than the bleeding-edge beta releases.
