Disconnect the pump connector. Using a multimeter set to Ohms (Ω), measure across the pump motor pins. A healthy pump will show a low resistance (between 0.5Ω and 5Ω). An open circuit (infinite resistance) or a short circuit (0Ω) confirms a dead pump.
