There are two main paths you can take for firmware updates.

Remove the battery and look at the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) inside the battery compartment. If you see a large chip labeled "STM32F405," you have a V2. If you see a "BK4819" or unlabeled main processor, proceed with extreme caution—stick to official Baofeng updates only.

Once the software displays "Success" or "Update Complete," the radio may reboot automatically. If it doesn't, turn it off and unplug the cable.

Disconnect the cable. Turn the radio on normally. Check the Version menu again to confirm the new version is installed.
