The film follows (played by Jiiva in a career-defining performance), a post-graduate in Tamil literature. Raised by a passionate Tamil teacher after being orphaned, Prabhakar grows up with a deep love for his language and culture. However, as he enters the workforce during the IT boom in Chennai, he finds himself a social outcast.
