The original super pack was a technological bodge. In the 1990s and early 2000s, companies like Mill Creek Entertainment and Majesco realized that older content—black-and-white films, public domain cartoons, 8-bit video games—had nearly zero marginal cost to duplicate. They could slap 100 B-movies onto two double-sided DVDs. The result was less a curated collection than a digital landfill.
